Library and Creativity Centres
BFA’s 6 Library and Creativity Centers impact over 2000 students every year. Students benefit from activities that promote reading habits, inculcate good values, creativity, art and craft, quiz and competitions, celebration of important days and events and general awareness. Daily storybook reading inculcates a love for books, which directly enhances students’ engagement with academic textbooks. These initiatives are making a significant impact on their overall learning and personal growth.
Sarthak – Sponsored Students Programme
BFA has sponsored the education of 45 deserving students in villages of Noida to good English and Hindi medium schools. Our senior most students are now in their final year of college, or have entered professional careers, changing the course of their lives. A few students, having completed vocational training programmes are working and supporting their families. The programme not only has far reaching benefits for the students but for their family members. The sibling get a good education, guidance and mentorship. The parents and other family members are lifted out of hardship and these students become a role model in their communities .
Saksham – Career Counselling and Vocational Training
BFA has successfully provided career counselling to more than 7000 students in Inter Colleges of Noida. 393 students students who were keen on joining vocational courses but could not afford the fee, were admitted to vocational training courses, such as those in the paramedical stream, computers, web design, graphic design, cosmetology, hair and make up and other technical courses. As of March 2025, 314 students had completed their training and 247 employed in good jobs, earning for themselves and their families, with many students having risen up in their respective jobs and earning very good salaries. BFA is a strong believer in educating the girl child and fully supports the “ Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” mission by the Indian government, hence, a majority of these students are girls.
Wall Hung Libraries (WHL)
As of March 2025, 760 WHL have been installed in 24 States and 4 Union Territories across the country, (including Andaman & Nicobar Islands), in 11 regional languages. Wall Hung Libraries have a cascading effect on learning outcomes of students in remote villages, helping them in academics as well. Reading different books enhances awareness and increases their vocabulary and curiosity. BFA has been guiding schools to use these books for drawing and painting, performing skits and in a number of novel ways.
Sparsh – Braille and Tactile Books For Visually Impaired Students
Students studying in schools and institutions for the visually impaired get books which are part of their course curriculum but very few have access to story books and books on general awareness which can pique their curiosity and widen their horizons. Braille story books attract students to read and aid learning and understanding. Above all they give them joy! Till 31st March 2025, 12000 visually impaired students in 200 institutions across India including those in the remotest areas of the country were direct beneficiaries of Books for All’s Sparsh Mission.
